Who Are We?
Community Living Services of Oakland County (CLS/OC)
   is a non-profit organization that promotes community inclusion, full citizenship and a self-determined life for people with developmental disabilities.

We are strongly focused on person-centered planning, meaning you plan for your future with people important to you.

CLS/OC believes in:
  • Family preservation
  • The importance of community
  • Flexible service and funding
  • Partnerships that actively include individuals and families
  • New approaches and creative methods of supports.

CLS/OC promotes the principles of Self-Determination to assist people, one by one, in gaining a more meaningful life.

Our Mission
  Is to assist and advocate for each person   to have the supports they want and need:
  • To exercise control and authority over        their lives
  • To live a life of freedom, opportunity        and relationships as family, friends
     and neighbors
  • To share in full community citizenship        and membership
Our Vision
 People will fully participate in their  communities and have a quality of life  which comes from freedom and its  responsibilities, the authority to make  their own decisions and the financial  resources to implement them.

Move Over Leno and Letterman, Oakland County Show is Stiff Competition!!!!
Oakland County residents rally in Lansing Elizabeth Martin displays arts & crafts work
Several representatives from Oakland County rally on the steps in Lansing to show their support for people with disabilities.
Elizabeth Martin displays her beautiful, handmade artwork while attending a recent conference. Elizabeth has her own microbusiness which she created with the help of several family members.

Rochester Hills resident P.J. DeCuir takes time out from his classes at Oakland University
to relax and enjoy the sweet sounds of opera.

David Taylor attended "The Walk A Mile in My Shoes" Rally in Lansing in May. David has also testified in front of
Lansing lawmakers on behalf of people with disabilities.

Services
Our contract with the Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority is designed to assist you in developing and controlling an individualized budget to pay for authorized supports and services. This puts resources in your hands so you can make your own life choices.  CLS/OC provides you with qualified individuals and agencies and if requested, assists you in interviewing those that you select. CLS/OC makes payments for services you choose and handles payroll functions on your behalf. This offers you flexibility, creativity and innovation when it comes to choosing your own community supports and services.
